Postdoctoral Fellowship: Sustainable Polymers/Green Chemistry Education
This position is open to recent Ph.D. students who are interested in research focused on the development of new curricular materials which model the application of green chemistry principles in the design of environmentally-friendly polymers. The individual will be expected to make progress on their own projects as well as co-supervise undergraduates performing research. These responsibilities will be balanced with opportunities for mentorship with a co-faculty advisor and engagement in departmental initiatives in modern classroom instruction. Participation in outreach programs supported by the NSF Center for Sustainable Polymers and a MN PUI (Primary Undergraduate Institution) Sustainable Polymer Education and Research Consortium will be encouraged.
The ideal candidate should have a recent Ph.D. in organic, polymer or other closely related chemistry discipline and have a professional goal of pursuing an academic career. Strong writing and communications skills are required, as well as a commitment to promoting the ideals of green chemistry and sustainable practices. Target start of appointment Feb. 1, 2020.
